A drone show, also known as a drone light show, is a synchronized performance using LED-equipped drones to create images, logos, text, symbols, and animations in the night sky. Every drone is precisely programmed to move and change color as part of one coordinated aerial display.

Design, size & visuals

A drone show can range from 50 meters up to 200m, which means they are big. The ideal size depends on the number of drones, viewing distance, audience size, venue layout, airspace, and the level of detail required in the visuals.

Our LED drones can display the full RGB color spectrum, including vivid colors, smooth fades, gradients, and coordinated color transitions. This allows us to match brand colors, event themes, national colors, and custom creative concepts with a high level of visual flexibility.

Yes, drone shows can often be performed over water. Flights over lakes, rivers, or coastal areas require careful technical planning, suitable takeoff access, permits, weather assessment, and a location-specific safety plan before approval.

In many cases, yes. The possibility depends on the venue, local regulations, airspace, building height, and required safety distances. Skydance can design flight paths that integrate with urban architecture while maintaining the necessary operational safety zones.

For safety, Skydance does not plan drone show flight paths directly above crowds. Every performance includes a defined safety buffer between the drones, launch area, and audience, with viewing zones arranged according to the venue and applicable regulations.

Skydance supplies the drones, control equipment, technical systems, power solutions, pilots, and operational team. The client may need to provide secure venue access, event security support, and a sound system with an audio technician when the show includes synchronized music or narration.

Pricing & booking

Skydance drone shows are typically priced at approximately €140–€200 per drone, excluding transport. The final cost depends on the number of drones, animation complexity, show length, location, permits, logistics, music synchronization, and any additional production requirements.

Safety & regulations

Drone show safety requirements depend on the venue, local airspace, weather, audience position, and national regulations. Skydance plans flight corridors, takeoff zones, crowd separation, emergency procedures, permits, and operational safety measures for every performance.

Yes, professionally planned drone shows are designed with multiple safety measures. Skydance follows strict EU and EASA-aligned procedures, conducts technical and pre-flight testing, uses trained pilots, and maintains defined safety buffers between the drones and the audience.

Skydance is an EU-based drone show operator using professional EU-made and certified equipment. Every project is planned according to applicable EASA requirements, local aviation rules, airspace restrictions, and any additional conditions imposed by the relevant authorities.

Most Skydance drone shows operate at altitudes of up to 120 meters above ground level. The final altitude depends on the venue, creative design, local airspace, visibility, and regulations. Higher flights may require additional permits and special approval.

WEATHER & CONTINGENCY

Wind is one of the most important factors affecting drone show safety, stability, and visual precision. Skydance can typically operate in winds of up to 35 km/h, depending on the venue, weather conditions, drone configuration, and the final technical assessment.

Light drizzle may be acceptable in certain conditions, but heavier rain can reduce visibility, affect electronic equipment, and make flight operations unsafe. The final decision is based on real-time weather data and an on-site safety assessment.

Snow, ice, and freezing moisture can affect drone performance, visibility, batteries, and flight safety. A show may still be possible in light winter conditions, but Skydance cannot safely operate during heavy snowfall or significant icing conditions.

Fog reduces visibility for both the audience and the operational team. It can weaken the visual impact of the formations and make safe flight monitoring more difficult, so drone shows cannot operate in dense or rapidly developing fog.

Skydance drone shows can normally operate in temperatures between approximately -10°C and +40°C. Actual operating limits depend on wind, moisture, battery performance, equipment condition, and the overall safety assessment at the event location.

If weather or another safety issue prevents the show, Skydance will coordinate the best available solution with the client. This may include a delayed start, an agreed backup date, or rescheduling under the conditions defined in the event agreement. Rescheduling is generally offered without an additional show production fee, excluding new transport costs.

SUSTAINABILITY

Drone shows offer a modern and reusable alternative to traditional fireworks. They create custom logos, messages, and animated stories without pyrotechnic smoke, falling debris, or loud explosions, making them especially suitable for cities, tourism destinations, brand events, and communities sensitive to noise.
